Work Life
I started my first business
when I was 21 - basically a PC Sales and Servicing operation - that was
after being service manager for another local firm from the age of 19 -
left school early with plans on going to University to become an
accountant (thankfully that didn't happen :-) - no disrespect to the
beanies).
Anyway, enjoyed the technology and sales piece, ran
lots of different companies of various sizes, until I sold one of them
to a nationwide provider in 2000 where upon I ran their interests in
the Gisborne district until June 2008. Conceived, designed and
built the first Data Centre of it’s kind in a provincial centre in New
Zealand, created a slew of different products and services around
Internet access add-ons, remote storage and Disaster Recovery services
and Software as a Service.
In short, I am really good at (and passionate about)
technology and it’s practical application to commercial and enterprise
situations. I’ve also discovered over this time that I really enjoy
leading and growing people - helping people to discover new strengths
and building new skills is one of the most fulfilling components of
management in the IT sector.
However, decided that when Fujitsu Corporation
out of Japan bought out our little NZ owned and operated
organisation that it was probably time for me to move on.
After eight odd years of involvement and a new "corporate" approach to all
that we had developed and built it was a better move for me to develop my
passion and Interest in Internet businesses..
As such, I’ve been working reasonably hard over the
past 18 months developing multiple Internet based businesses in the
area of Personal Development, Mens Health, Property Conveyancing and cellular network with web
based services integration.
I have creative flair, very strong communication
skills, a huge amount of common sense (which no longer seems to be that
common :-) ), a very strong sense of integrity and business acumen to
burn.
I believe these are exciting times. With the downturn in the economy,
businesses both online and offline must find more cost effective and innovative ways to attract
and engage with targeted and pre-qualified customers as much as working hard to develop,
foster and add more value to existing customer relationships - these are by far the largest asset
to any business.
If you are interested in engaging someone who has a
proven delivery track record, is extremely savvy in both technology and
business and you are keen to see results in your project or business
then...
Lets talk!

PPS: This is very much a light hearted version of me - deadly serious when I need to be, but most that meet me describe me as relaxed, composed, always optimistic and energetic.
